Babies are natural yogis! They live in the moment hearts wide open and minds taking in everything around them. Nourish your baby and yourself with a light-hearted, gentle yoga practice complete with mind-centering breath, flowing movement, and a luxurious restorative pose. Baby yogis enjoy simple movement that creates a bonding experience with you, as well as fosters healthy neurological development. Individual time is spent with you and your baby to address any immediate concerns in a supportive environment. This series is especially designed for parents, grandparents, or caregivers and their babies age 6 weeks to 12 months with variations for newborns, head holders, and crawlers. No prior yoga experience is necessary.
Valerie started her yoga practice in 2001 shortly after the birth of her daughter. Initially seeking balance to round out a heavy cardio fitness routine, she received more gifts from the practice than she could ever imagined. It was from day one on the mat that she knew she would teach and share these gifts with others. She has a special interest in working with students within their own range of motion tapping into pure, functional movement in the body. Valerie believes that anyone can practice and experience the great benefits of yoga. She uses a whole-hearted approach to encourage her students to connect deeply to movement within their own bodies. Valerie teaches prenatal yoga, Hatha yoga, Baby & Me Yoga, vinyasa flow, and restorative. Valerie completed her 200 hour YTT in May, 2018 with Cindy Boulter and completed prenatal training in April, 2018 with Lorraine Shedoudi at Revolution Community Yoga. Additional training includes Reiki I, Trauma-Informed Teacher Training, Restorative Teacher Training, and various workshops addressing back and pelvic health. In 2019 she continues her studies undergoing a six month apprenticeship with Jacqui Bonwell, as well as advanced prenatal teacher training at Down Under School of Yoga.
