I came to yoga when injury after injury kept sidelining me from my first love, soccer.  It was a time when life was insanely busy with work, kids, homework and sports practices.  At the time, slowing down did not seem like an option. I came to my first yoga class seeking relief from tired, overused, sore muscles and found so much more.  It was mindful movement.  The strengthening of mind, body, and soul that I had been craving but I was too busy to notice.  My background is physical education and health teaching as well as coaching, so I’m drawn to the anatomy of asana as well as the strength building aspects of the practice.  A strong body through asana, a strong mind through awareness, and a strong spirit through a deep inner listening developed through meditation and both yin and yang practices.  I have completed my Yin certification with both Josh Sommers and Elliot Travis and have studied extensively the works of Bernie Clark, Paul Grilley and Sarah Powers.  I have taught the beautiful practice of Yin yoga for a year and have just completed my 200 hour teacher training led by Cindy Boulter with Theresa Murphy, Jacqui Bonwell, Jen Mast, and Amy Yapp.
