Please join Kim for silent meditation Wednesday and Friday mornings. The door to the Loft will be open at 5:30am. There you will find everything you need to set up your space for your meditation practice. Meditation will begin at 5:45am and end at 6:15am. If you feel you need guidance, please arrive at 5:15am for brief instruction.

Never meditated before? No worries! There is no way to do it wrong. Sitting comfortably in silence and doing your best to focus on the breath is all that is necessary to reap the benefits of meditation. As you sit, your mind may wander off in thought and that’s perfectly natural as that is the nature of the mind. The practice of meditation is to notice when that happens, to notice the thought, and bring your focus back to the breath. That’s all!

Health benefits of meditation:
* reduces stress
* lessens anxiety
* promotes emotional health
* lengthens attention span
* generates kindness
* cultivates peace
* improves sleep
* decreases blood pressure

Like many things in life, the hardest part is just getting started. Finding a quiet place without distraction, and having someone hold that space for you, will go a long way toward helping you develop a consistent meditation practice. Please join me as we better the quality of our own lives and that of the world around us.

Should you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email Kim at kimblanc@comcast.net.

Kim Blanc
Kim began practicing yoga in 2009.  In 2011, she earned her 200 hour yoga teacher certification from master teacher and author Rolf Gates.  She has a strong personal practice which includes both the physical and spiritual components of yoga.  Kim believes that anyone can do yoga and that everyone benefits, both physically and mentally, from a consistent practice.  She appreciates all styles of yoga, but is mostly drawn to the Ashtanga method, which creates strength and flexibility while cultivating a quiet and peaceful mind.  With a strong focus on alignment, Kim’s Vinyasa classes are firmly rooted in the Ashtanga tradition.  Kim’s workshops and  trainings include time spent with:  David Swenson, Rolf Gates, Richard Faulds, Jonathan Faust, Carolyn Sundeen, Jacqui Bonwell, Sharon Saltsberg, Krishna Das and Stephen Cope.  Kim is also a Level I & Level II Certified Usui Reiki Practitioner and loves the opportunity she has to help others heal their bodies and minds through the practice of yoga and meditation.
