There is no charge for attending these meditation sessions

Please join us for silent meditation Wednesday mornings. The door to the Loft will be open at 5:30am. There you will find everything you need to set up your space for your meditation practice. Meditation will begin at 5:45am and end at 6:15am.

Never meditated before? No worries! There is no way to do it wrong. Sitting comfortably in silence and doing your best to focus on the breath is all that is necessary to reap the benefits of meditation. As you sit, your mind may wander off in thought and that’s perfectly natural as that is the nature of the mind. The practice of meditation is to notice when that happens, to notice the thought, and bring your focus back to the breath. That’s all!

Like many things in life, the hardest part is just getting started. Finding a quiet place without distraction, and having someone hold that space for you, will go a long way toward helping you develop a consistent meditation practice. I’ve practiced meditation and yoga on and off since the 1980’s. My battle with breast cancer brought me back to a regular practice. In the summer of 2017 I went to a meditation gathering at RCY and rediscovered how meditation made me feel. I am back to practicing yoga and meditation on a regular basis. I have experienced many of the healing benefits of yoga, meditation and plant based eating. Meditation has returned me to living again— running, hiking, working part time and volunteering at RCY. I live in West Acton with my partner Chris. I have two grown children and four beautiful grandchildren. And two contentious, but lovable cats.
