Mindful Stitching: Create Fabric Art by Hand
w/ Deepika Prakash @ Revolution Community Yoga in Acton, MA
Friday, April 10th • 5:30 – 7:30pm in the Waterfall Room
$40 early registration • $50 day of workshop
Slow down and reconnect with your hands in this calming, creative workshop focused on mindful hand stitching. Using a curated selection of fabrics, you’ll design and create your own personal textile art piece (approximately 5×7), guided by simple yet beautiful hand stitching techniques inspired by traditions like Sashiko from Japan and Kantha from India.
This workshop is not about perfection—it’s about process.
As you stitch, you’ll begin to notice a natural rhythm emerge, helping you relax, focus, and enjoy the act of making. Along the way, you’ll learn how to combine fabrics, layer textures, and use hand stitching both as decoration and as a form of repair and storytelling.

Your finished piece can be framed as textile art, incorporated into a larger project, or simply treasured as a reminder of time spent creating something by hand.
No prior sewing experience is needed, and all materials will be provided.
