Join us for an exciting new workshop that brings together two worlds – yoga and strength-based resistance training! Experience this unique combination of conditioning that provides proper warming and lengthening through yoga and prepares the body for strengthening action. Deep and mindful breathing feeds muscles and brings focus to your intentions for strength and stability, while strength-based resistance training improves neuromuscular control, increases bone density, boosts your metabolism and aids in the reduction of body fat through an increase in lean muscle mass. This amalgamation of two great fitness approaches will further develop endurance, flexibility, and power.

This two-hour workshop will enhance your yoga practice and can kick-start a strengthening routine. Led by Kara Herbertz, NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Julie McKay, E-RYT-200.

Julie cultivates a safe and comfortable atmosphere for her students weaving in philosophy, encouragement, and humor!

Kara Herbertz
Eleven years have passed since leaving the corporate workplace to raise a family. Today Kara is a fit and active mother of three children; finding time for regular strength training, yoga, and cycling classes. The positive effects of exercise on her mental health and physical health were self-evident and empowered her to pursue a personal trainer accreditation. As a Certified Personal Trainer, Kara provides clients with support, encouragement, and continued motivation. She finds it gratifying to become a positive force in their fitness journey. An important part of her training approach is teaching proper exercise technique when using free weights, stability balls, resistance bands, and a suspension trainer. Personal Training sessions are conducted in Kara’s private gym setting or the comfort of her client’s home. She is a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer, TRX Qualified Trainer, and Adult First Aid/CPR/AED certified through the American Red Cross.
