A Spring In Your Step
Yoga & Acupressure: A Spring In Your Step
Saturday, March 14th @ 3 – 5pm
w/ Erica Taylor at Revolution Community Yoga in the Mass. Ave. Level Studio
$35 Early Registration / $45 registration day of workshop
Come explore how yoga and acupressure can help you stay balanced for the season! This workshop will combine gentle yoga, acupressure, myofascial release techniques and yoga nidra to balance our bodies for spring.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, we have reached the element of Wood, the time of Spring. Looking around at nature, the land is beginning to thaw and the sap is rising in the trees. There is an awakening as movement surges to the surface, and a certain amount of agitation is necessary to bring about this great transformation. After the contraction of Winter, this is a time for expansion and new beginnings. This is the time of Spring.
In our workshop, we will explore the principles of Chinese Medicine and Five Element Theory. We will learn how acupressure works and how it relates to yoga. Opening our bodies with a mindful yoga practice, we will then balance the energy pathways of spring with acupressure points and myofascial release techniques, and end with a long guided relaxation to integrate the effects of our practice. Some themes during our practice will include addressing stiff muscles or joints particularly in the neck, shoulders, hips and sides of the body, seasonal allergies, and emotional balancing.
Prepare to unwind, have some aha’s, and feel empowered to support yourself in this potent season of rest and reflection!
