The practical and profound wisdom of Ayurveda is one of life’s great gifts. Ayurveda, literally, the “science of life”, is the mother of all healthcare systems and gives us the tools and knowledge we need to not only prevent ill health, but to embrace the vibrancy that is our birthright. Join us for this refreshing and empowering exploration of time-tested ancient wisdom.
In this interactive and experiential workshop*, we will:
- Discover the basic tenets of Ayurveda, the oldest continuously practiced health care system in the world
- Learn to recognize the signs and symptoms of physical and mental imbalance
- Experience a medicinal approach to yoga and breathing techniques to manifest your desired state of health
- Discover your unique constitution, and how to approach your life in a way that fosters balance
The workshop will be both experiential and lecture-based, so please come dressed comfortably and ready for gentle movement.

Charlotte has been practicing Yoga since the early 90’s. She received her 200-hour certification at Kripalu in 2005 and her 300-hour certification with Shiva Rea in 2009. In 2010 Charlotte completed training at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, which is the only nutrition school integrating all the different dietary theories — combining the knowledge of traditional philosophies with modern concepts. She has been integrating Ayurvedic practices into her life over the last 10 years and welcomes the opportunity to share her experience with others. She practices health coaching and leads workshops on yoga, nutrition, and Ayurveda in addition to being Head Chef for Shoals Marine lab on Appledore Island during the summer. Charlotte is the co creator of the Ultimate Rejuvenation Cleanse.
Emmie Stamell is a mother, writer, Yoga teacher, massage therapist and practitioner of Ayurveda. A student of life, her passion is navigating life with awareness and vitality. Additionally, Emmie is a mental health counselor at a psychiatric hospital where she offers mindfulness practices as an integral part of the healing process. Emmie has a bachelors degree in English Literature from Trinity College. She is a certified Kripalu yoga teacher, studied massage therapy at The World School in San Francisco and completed 2 years of study at The Ayurvedic Institute with her esteemed teacher Dr. Vasant Lad.
