Svaroopa® Yoga specializes in spinal decompression by releasing the deep tension in the layers of muscles attached to your spine. This has a significant healing effect on your whole being-body, mind, and more. Specific body alignments and propping support your body where it is so you can get maximum results with minimum effort.

This 3-week class will continue with the basic concepts of Svaroopa® Yoga to release tension in your spine, starting at your tailbone. We will add an emphasis on identifying and releasing areas of your upper spine that are tight, creating length and space through your rib cage. Learn how making changes in your lower spine create deeper changes in your upper spine. Open to anyone who has taken intro to Svaroopa® Yoga.

This class is suitable for all levels, however, participants should be able to get on and off the floor. Anyone who is pregnant or has had an organ transplant may not participate. Class size limited to 10.

Kristine Curran, RN, RYT-500
Certified Svaroopa® Yoga Teacher
Kris explored several styles of yoga for years before finding Svaroopa® yoga in 2007 during some health challenges. She found it to be exactly what she needed in body, mind, and spirit and has now been practicing for 10 years. A Registered Nurse by profession, she never considered teaching yoga, but her teacher encouraged her to go to training. After a few years and a difficult life transition, in 2011 she enrolled in teacher training at Master Yoga Foundation (now the Svaroopa® Vidya Ashram), under the direction of Swami Nirmalananda Saraswati (formerly Rama Berch). She started teaching immediately and found she loved it. She completed the program as a Certified Svarooopa® Yoga teacher at the 500 hour level in 2014. Kris continues to work full time as a nurse, and teach yoga. In addition to teaching classes, she is currently working toward her certification in Svaroopa® Yoga Therapy and works with people individually to alleviate pain and stress. She loves watching how this style of yoga is transforming people’s bodies, minds, and lives.
