Prepare to turn inward. This no-flow style yoga class, provides opportunity for you to spend time in poses to explore greater awareness of the body, play with variations of a pose, and reflect on where the mind goes in periods of stillness. Class begins with a meditation exercise and breath work, then we warm up the body with simple exercises or sun salutations. From there we will work to align body systems through purposeful movement in standing, seated, and supine poses. Time is spent in each posture followed by periods of brief relaxation and reflection. An extended final relaxation provides time to clear the body of any remaining stuck energy or thought-patterns. This class is open to all levels of yoga practice. Variations of poses will be offered, and props are encouraged. The option for hands-on assists is available, but not necessary for the practice. Leave refreshed, recharged, and ready for your yoga off the mat.

Valerie Kacian
Valerie started her yoga practice in 2001 shortly after the birth of her daughter. Initially seeking balance to round out a heavy cardio fitness routine, she got SO much more in return. She has a special interest in working with students within their own range of motion tapping into pure, functional movement in the body. Valerie believes that anyone can practice and experience the great benefits of yoga. She uses a whole-hearted approach to encourage her students to connect deeply to movement within their own bodies. Valerie teaches vinyasa flow, slow flow, power flow, and prenatal yoga. Valerie completed her 200 hour YTT in 2018 with Cindy Boulter and completed prenatal training with Lorraine Shedoudi at Revolution Community Yoga.
