Micaela Garzoni
Micaela ‘Miki’ Garzoni has been practicing yoga intensely since 2009. She has an unwavering passion for all that is Yoga, concentrating on Vinyasa and Yin Yoga; the ancient scriptures – in particular the Yoga Sutras; chanting; and Mantra recitation. She has been meditating since 2013 and loves to bring this practice to the inmates at MCI Concord by teaching the Path of Freedom, a 12-week Mindfulness Based Emotional Intelligence program for prisoners. Miki has completed two 200 hour yoga teacher trainings: one with Rolf Gates in 2014 and more recently, one with Jacqui Bonwell in 2016. In June 2016, she completed her training with Nikki Meyers as a leader for Y12SR – The Yoga of 12-Step Recovery. In long term recovery from addiction to drugs and alcohol, Miki wants to bring healing and yoga to anybody touched by addictions in her community. A mother of three and grandmother of one, Miki is dedicated to her family; her German Shepherd Giulietta; and her Friesian horse Kosmo. In the evening, Miki loves to knit and weave, and read books on yoga and recovery.
