Have you ever wondered what the gesture of hands together over the heart meant or its true name? Why do we use this mudra when we say Namaste and honor ourselves and those around us?

I invite you to join me, Cyndy Overgaag for an afternoon workshop to explore the universe of mudras. You will discover that there is mudra for everything from healing stiff joints, awakening the chakras and revving up your digestive system, to evoking the subtle qualities of unity and limitlessness. There is even a mudra for finding lost objects!

Come learn how to the use mudras to complement your yoga practice and meditation. We will explore how they connect us to the elements of nature, bringing energy, balance and calm to our bodies, minds and spirits.

Cyndy Overgaag • Kripalu 500hr. PYT, Mudra Certified IYT
I am thankful to be a Kripalu Professional Level Certified Teacher (500 KYT). That training immersed me in all the many styles and traditions in the yoga spectrum. I have studied and continue to practice Iyengar, Ashstanga, Kundalini, Yin Yoga as well as many other offerings. I hold a Yoga Warriors certification to better serve those with the challenges of PTSD. I have also completed the 65 hour IYT module to incorporate Mudras and Pranayama for Yoga Therapy. Along the way I have enjoyed the teachings of Eric Schiffman, Rodney Yee, Rod Stryker, Stephen Cope, Yoganand, Dharma Mittra, Tao Porchon-Lynch and many others. My love of movement in the body led me my former career as a ballet dancer in NYC and continues with BollyWood, Bhangra and just plain bopping to inspiring music. Qi Gong and Tai Chi are friends of mine too. I began my practice over 30 years ago and have been teaching for over 20 years now. I can’t imagine my life without the balance that yoga brings. I’m honored to pass that wisdom on to my students.
