RCY is excited to offer a series of monthly workshops specifically for tweens and teens.  Each workshop introduces a different theme, various asanas (yoga poses), breathing techniques, meditations and group discussion pertinent to issues our youth are facing today.  Yoga helps us to deal with life situations from a position of calm and strength, while developing self-awareness and inner peace.  Join Christine Fox, Laura Grundstrom and Jen Mast for one or more of these grounding, calming, heart-opening, transformative, inspirational classes.  All workshops offered to middle and high school students.

All levels and genders are welcome – no yoga experience is necessary.

Stress Less with Tests Yoga
w/ Jen and Laura
Come learn how to make test taking more manageable.  Students will learn skills to reduce tension, as well as increasing focus and confidence.

Saturday, December 9th @ 4-5:30pm (In The Waterfall Room)
Holiday Restore & Renew:  Yoga to Relieve School and Holiday Stress
w/ Christine
This time of year can be challenging.  Turn attention inward.  In this Restorative workshop, props are used to support practitioners in the yoga poses in this gentle, healing practice.   Leave with ideas and techniques on what *you* really need to feel calm and rested to enjoy the holidays, recuperate from the demands of school, and renewed as the year transitions.

New Year’s & Beyond: Make healthy habits your focus
w/ Laura
Find the confidence within; explore your own personal power and resilience.  This group will explore the ideas of the yamas and niyamas that guide our moral compass.  Learning healthy habits such as meditation, goal setting and mindfulness will allow us to begin the year with uplifting energy and focus.

Peace, Love & Happiness: Yoga for Mood Boosting
w/ Jen
Did you know that yoga can actually make you happier?  Begin this workshop exploring the science and psychology of happiness and what it means to be happy in your own life.  Come to your mat for this uplifting, heart opening practice.  Learn poses that help to balance mood, boost confidence and self esteem, promote compassion and a sense of calm.  End with a loving-kindness metta meditation.

You’ve Got This:  Yoga for Reinforcing Your Confidence & Reducing Anxiety
w/ Christine
The intention of this practice is to affirm your wisdom and strength.  This workshop will explore the chakras (energy centers) and ways to balance them.  Leave with an understanding of your energy centers, and, how you might choose to cultivate balance after you leave class.  Class will include breathing techniques, a flow practice, and group activities.

Make Yoga Your Own:  Come create an at home practice
w/ Laura
Yoga is a lifelong practice; learn how to make it your own personal practice.   Join us and explore how to use yoga to make life more manageable every day.  You will leave with some short practical ways to incorporate yoga into your daily routine.
