Oct 19th: Radiant Health Workshop

“Yoga balances the body, the hormonal system, and the stress response. People tend to think of yoga as being all about flexibility – it’s not. It’s about rebalancing and healing the body.”

– Paula R. Pullen Research Instructor at the Morehouse School of Medicine

What does Radiant Health mean to you?
To us, radiant health is the practice of doing the best we can with the bodies we have. Just as yoga is a practice, so is health. And guess what? It changes. And then it changes again! Learn how to use yoga as a gateway to radiant health. Explore what practice really means and deepen your connection within.

Join our very own Jen Mast and Amy Yapp for a practice that explores how yoga supports wellness.
We believe yoga is accessible to everyone no matter what their limitations. Some areas we will explore:

  • Tightness
  • Improving Flexibility
  • Increasing Energy
  • Recovering from injury and illness
  • Prevention

This is an area of practice very close to both Jen and Amy’s hearts as it is at the center of their own personal practice. One of their greatest joys is to empower people to access their own strengths and healing abilities through yoga.

Jen Mast Jan 2014 croppedJen Mast
Like many yogis, the first moment Jen Mast stepped onto a yoga mat, in 2005, changed her life. Very quickly, Jen fully immersed herself in her yoga practice, finding amazing benefits physically and mentally. Jen vowed she would pay forward this amazing gift. In 2008, she brought yoga into the public school setting where she worked as a high school counselor. She witnessed firsthand the benefits of adding yoga into the Health and Wellness curriculum as well as in her one on one counseling sessions with her students. Jen is a RYT 200 hr. and she also received her Lifeforce Yoga® certification this past summer at Kripalu, training under Amy Weintraub, Yoga For Depression. Jen has a fun and uplifting teaching style that will leave you refreshed and enlightened.

Amy Yapp Jan 2014 (2)Amy Yapp
When Amy first tried a yoga class as a busy, young elementary school teacher many years ago, she decided it “wasn’t for her”. Ten years later and recovering from some serious health challenges, she decided to give “that yoga thing” another try. It was that second class after a decade hiatus that profoundly changed her life. She walked away standing taller, breathing better and knowing she had found something integral to her future. A born teacher, Amy couldn’t help sharing what she had experienced with others and began teaching yoga in 2003. Amy is honored and grateful to have completed her 200 hour teacher training with Shawn Shaw, Johnny Gillespie and Diana Hoscheit of Empowered Yoga . Always focusing on healing and prevention, Amy’s teaching has a strong foundation built upon core work, alignment-based poses and tension relieving breath work to restore and empower her students at their own pace. She believes in challenging herself and those around her, but is committed to listening to the body and making sure every class has a healthy dose of fun. Delight and connection are at the heart of every class.
