In this two-hour workshop, Alex will discuss his anatomically-informed approach to spinal health and lower back care through Yoga. He will lead you through a carefully constructed sequence of yoga poses and modified yoga techniques to keep your spine feeling great, and to help alleviate minor lower back pain and discomfort. He will also help you to modify a yoga practice if you suffer from lower back injuries such as disk issues and facet joint irritation.

Alex specializes in back care in his private yoga practice and used yoga many years ago to find lasting relief from his own lower back issues. He has been training yoga teachers since 2009 in anatomy and physiology and proper modification for injury in yoga practice.

This is also a wonderful workshop for teachers to learn some of the many ways to address lower back issues with students and clients.

Alex Amorosi-ERYT
Alex Amorosi-ERYT is a Registered Yoga Teacher offering classes, workshops, retreats, and teacher trainings in greater New England and around the world. Alex specializes in the anatomical, physiological, and neurological effects of yoga poses, breathing, and meditation on the body and brain.  He conducts trainings for yoga teachers in experiential anatomy and therapeutic yoga. Alex is the Co-Creator and Co-Director of The HYP Studios Yoga Instructor Immersion and a 2012/2013 Lululemon Ambassador.

A long-time student of human nature and the nature of the human mind, Alex first began studying Zen Meditation in his late teens. Through the years, he has developed a holistic approach to meditation that synthesizes teachings from Classical Yoga, Zen Buddhism, and Advaita Vedanta. He is passionate about the power of the healing practices of yoga for individuals who wish to live healthy and authentic lives.

Alex is a graduate of the Boston University College of Fine Arts, with a degree in Classical Music Performance and Composition. He loves cooking, music, and languages.
