THIS WORKSHOP HAS BEEN POSTPONED – STAY TUNED FOR SEPT. DATE

Yoga For Children With Special Needs
(Ages 6-12ish)
w/ Laura Grundstrom
Sunday, May 22nd @ 1:30 – 2:30pm
$20 per child – a parent or guardian must accompany
6 child maximum

This class is geared toward the high functioning child who needs a little more structure and support when learning new things. Yoga is so beneficial for all children but this class is a non-competitive way for children to build strength and confidence. We will work on learning yoga poses and how they can help us manage our feelings in our daily lives. The group will also participate in some age appropriate guided relaxation that they can use on a nightly basis to help them relieve tension and stress.

The class will be an hour long and parents are asked to stay and wait in the building for their child. In order to plan and get to know your child a little better please fill out THIS FORM and return it to me prior to the class date.

Laura Grundstrom Jan 2014Laura Grundstrom
Laura has worked with children of all abilities. She spent many years working with Autistic children of all abilities. Recently Laura participated in the Stretch What Matters yoga training for children with special needs. Laura has taught children in many different capacities for the past fifteen years. She began working with Autistic children and then moved into a preschool setting. Laura used her own personal practice to stay grounded and began to use some of that knowledge in the classroom. She began her yearlong 300 hour children’s training in 2007 to become a certified YogaKids teacher and trainer as a way to better support her students in the classroom. It was the perfect way to merge her love for yoga and her passion for teaching kids.

Children have so much to teach us if we just take the time to stop and listen. As a mother of two young girls, Laura works both on and off the mat to find balance, playfulness and of course the bravery to try new things. She is looking forward to teaching your children and sharing with them her passion for yoga and fun!
