Revolution Community Yoga in Acton, MA is looking for experienced, super-reliable Yoga Teachers to be added to our sub list for in-studio/in-person teaching when subs are needed.  At least 2+ years active teaching experience preferred. Safety is our first priority, and teachers need to consistently offer thoughtful modifications throughout all classes.  Consent is needed every time you use hands-on with students, and we have Flip Chips in studio to help reinforce this important practice.  We are looking for teachers who are rooted in Patanjali’s 8 Limbs of Yoga and the Yoga Sutras, and whose yoga practice goes beyond just the physical postures.

Please include these items in your initial email:

  • A link to a sample video of you teaching (this is required)
  • The name of your 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training School (does not need to be Yoga Alliance affiliated)
  • Teaching Experience Resume
  • Brief bio including where and when you received your yoga training
  • Your thoughts on the following questions:
    1) What are your thoughts on the notion of decolonizing yoga, and honoring the roots of yoga?
    2) How are you mindful to do so in your teaching and personal practices?

Please be comfortable teaching one or more of these asana styles: Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, Restorative, Gentle.  Our studio is very mindful of actively honoring the roots of yoga, and avoiding cultural appropriation and “trendy” yoga.  We have a welcoming, inclusive community, and subs have the opportunity earn a class on the regular schedule when there are openings.  BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and all body sizes are encouraged to apply.  Please email your application materials to teach@yogaacton.com – thank you.

BENEFITS OF PRIVATE INSTRUCTION:

Individualized Attention
Private lessons allow your instructor to get to know you and your body better so you can create a practice that is tailored to your needs, and safe for your body.

Accelerated Learning
Receiving more detailed instruction means you may “progress” at a quicker rate in whatever way that is relevant to your practice.

Adaptable for Everyone
No matter what your skill level or abilities, your instructor will adapt your private sessions to meet you where you’re at so you can get the most out of your time together.

Privacy
Sometimes, practicing with other people you don’t know can feel intimidating at first. Private sessions can help to ease you into a class setting so you feel more comfortable.

Physical Benefits for Recovery
Yoga and Pilates are great for helping with recovery from a sports injury (as long as you get clearance from your Physical Therapist and/or Doctor to add these to your routine). With the individual attention of a private session, the outcome may greatly improve how you perform in your sport or other activities.
